Motherhood: The Balancing Act

Motherhood is one of the hardest jobs in the world. Whether you are a stay at home mom, working mom, single mom, mom of twins etc. It’s clear to me that God has given us this truly amazing opportunity to shape the people of our future. Our children are going to become whatever we speak over them. What a tremendous task that has been placed before us! I have to keep myself in check all the time because frustration takes over at 7:30 in the morning when my toddler refuses to wear the shoes I give her because she “can’t move her toes fast or slow”.  I mean what does that even mean? I won’t lie, there’s days I completely lose my cool.

I realize now, that motherhood starts with me. I have to ask myself, am I giving myself over to prayer every day? Do I dive into God’s word for inspiration and guidance? Or do I give some lame excuse about being tired or too busy? We are instructed in

Matthew 6: 33

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The point I’m making here is that God is going to take care of us if we are actively seeking him and not trying to do it all in our own strength. I wouldn’t be able to stand on my own two feet without my father in Heaven.

So if you find yourself today in a tough spot with your kids, consider God’s word and let it guide in those difficult moments. I know for me personally, I have decided to really dig into the Bible and begin a more active prayer life. The enemy is going to come at us with anything he can use and sometimes he will use our very own children. We must be vigilant my fellow moms! I hope you can take this as an encouragement to grow closer to God and in turn raise your children to become strong in the faith.

Have a blessed day!
